If a product has been discontinued, our trade suppliers in most cases can supply an alternative solution for us. This is a common occurrence, when we get a failed multipoint-locking-mechanism. Some brands have stopped manufacturing older, out-dated center-cases (gearboxes), and complete multipoint-locking-mechanism units. In this scenario we’re unable to swap parts like-for-like. We then have to adapt the door to suit the newer version. Also, modify the keeps or strike plates on the door frame to suit the new locking-points, i.e. (latch & deadbolt, locking-hooks, shoot-bolts, rollers, mushrooms or pins). This saves our customer from having to purchase a brand new door.
